White countertop with grayish backsplash?

My new cabinets will be grayish brown, and I love the Ann Saks Yakisugi backsplash tile. But the tile is made of gray clay that gives the white glaze a grayish tint, and there are hairline brown lines that are supposed to make it look like burned wood. I wanted a white countertop, but can't seem to find one that looks good against the grayish tone, and I have looked at all options. It looks good with a tan countertop, but that doesn't do much for the cabinets. My designer thinks the grayish tile looks good against the white. Opinions?
