A couple years ago, I decided to take down the vertical blinds for the sliding door in my kitchen. The look of a clean lined/simple cornice appealed to me so I decided to build my own cornice board over the windows and sliding door.

I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. It was a very challenging project (bay window cornice boards should be left to pros) but I figured it out. The sheer panels give enough privacy without sacrificing natural light and the cornice creates the finished look I was going for.
