Not even sure where to start...

Hi All,

I am looking for some info on how to finance an REO that needs major repair.

We are moving out of state and been looking all over at houses. We found a new semi custom that is being built but the builders are being extremely inflexible on any changes which caused us to look around a bit more.

We found one that is an REO and would need to be taken down almost to the studs but with the price we could upgrade it and easily get 30 percent instant equity after all expenses. The caveat is that we would have to continue to live in our current house while fixing it up.

We have enough for 10 percent down and easily qualify for both loans but would need the 200k of equity in our current home to actually do the repairs and make it liveable.

i have heard of a 203 loan but was also thinking of using a home equity line but figured there had to be a good way to be able to finance this.

Any thoughts?

thanks
