You S. fischeri doesn't have a single juvenile leaf. Very interesting. How is that possible? Were they all cut off?

Definitely not, Elliot. I was given this plant as a gift from a very kind friend and those two tusks in the middle, opposing each other, was the original plant last summer. Everything else has grown since then. I presume since it was already an adult it just kept growing that way.

LOVE your Kirkii. I have two but they are slow growers for me and not nearly as prolific as yourself. It's beautiful. Regarding the fischeri....I bought a fairly mature one way back, and a leaf broke off in moving it. So of course, I stuck the leaf into mix and waited, and it too grew. Strangely, though, it grew 2 juvenile leaves (short and broad), and the rest grew as adult leaves. I find Sansevierias to be puzzling and fascinating plants. Sometimes there is no telling what they will do! I have given up wondering -- just let them do whatever they want.

Thank you Robin! I guess I'm not surprised that your fischeri leaf cutting produced juvenile plants, but it's amazing the rest grew adult! I have another fischeri that has a hard caudex and the immature leaves grow out of that. I love the way it looks. I hope it never reverts to adult leaves!

Both amazing Sans, but I LOVE that a Kirkii... my Kirkii is also a slow grower, but I thinks it's outgrown it's 8" Azalea Pot... great job!

The thing about coppertone is that it is such a space hog! Grrr!

Ditto on all the compliments. And what Mike said about coppertone. Wish mine would have more upright leaves. They are hard (almost like plastic) and grow out in every direction except up.

Thank you I have both of the ones you showed but not nearly as nice as yours. What I'm looking for is the hahnii version of 'Forescate'. (opposite of Gold Hahnii) or the standard version of 'Asahi'. I know, don't ask for much do I. Don't think I ever saw them.

I got my first coppertone 6 mo ago. I hope it will eventually grow as well as yours has.

Stush the standard version of 'Asahi' is 'Golden Street'. I may have sent you one of those (or not) a few years ago. I no longer grow it. It is nice but no room and with all the variegation it does not get as tall as a normal standard trifasciata anyway and the leaves also stay much thinner. It is a nice plant in its own right though! Maybe someone here still grows it.

I don't know if I have ever seen a "Forescate' version of hahni.......though some offsets of 'Golden hahni' may have come close. I love 'Forescate' but I have a hard time getting it through winter here.

Chris, You did send me a Golden Street and lost it shortly after. It was nice while it lasted. And some of hahnii Streaker leaves come close but being white instead of yellow and only in some degree. Leaves vary too much. But is very special it it's own right.

I would love to grow a cutting from a Coppertone. Like them very much, but nowhere to be found overhere.

I thought he reason my coppertone stuck out all over the place was because I did a lousy job of repotting it. haha!

They are space hogs... but I LOVE mine... had to give it the whole bottom shelf of my plant rack...

I just presented a friend with a kirkii I had been saving for her for nearly two years. She's like "I don't want it until I move to my new house". I think she was surprised too that I remembered that she wanted it. hehe!

It seems some are extremely slow growing and takes a few years to start to grow.
