What other fertilization have you done this fall (or plan to do before then)? What kind of grass do you have? Have you had a soil test?

Last fertilized in early august with milorganite.

The soil test interpretor recommended fertilizer with a 3-0-1 ratio. You don't need any phosphorus and many fertilizers now come without any. 32-3-8 has a ratio of 4-1 for N and K. If you can find one with a 3-1 ratio, that's what was recommended, but if you can't find it, 4-1 is fairly close. Right now is a great time to be fertilizing. I would fertilize now with a fertilizer close to a 3-0-1 ratio (or the 32-3 -8 if that's as close as possible) and again close to Nov. 15 with a fast release nitrogen. Most of your fertiizer should be applied in the fall. Rye and KBG like lots of fertiizer (3-5 lb/k a year). Tall fescue uses less (2-3 lb/k) and fine fescue does better with a small amount (1-2 lb/k). You might skip the areas where fine fescue predominates (probably the shade) and fertilize the rye and KBG areas.
