You have got a few options...any will work and it's going to be your preference.

1. cut below the first V and remove the damage areas all together. I would recommend this because the bloom opportunity is gone for at least a year anyways so might was well remove the old V and start fresh. look for old leaf scars and prune using a saw (no loping or pinching sheers). Try to get your saw cut to go just above as many leaf scars as possible to get the best chance of multiple tips starting back up.

2. clean up the rough break and leave the rest
