Miele's stainless steel cleans up very well compared to the other brands'.

If you don't like having to deal with stainless steel, you always have the option of installing cabinet panels on (most) of your appliances. You can't completely eliminate all stainless surfaces, but you can seriously reduce them.

I disagree with J Design Group's recommendation of Weiman as a SS cleaner. Sorry, but it smells to high heaven that is so strong and so lingering it will interfere with the smells and tastes of what you are cooking. And it leaves behind an oily residue and does not wipe off cleanly. The Weiman oily residue also attracts dust. If the OP is using Weiman, or another similar oil-based cleaner, that could be why she is finding cleaning stainless steel so difficult.

I find that a wet Dobie pad with just a bit of mild dish soap (I like Seventh Generation cause it's not very sudsy), followed by a dry towel, paper towel or microfiber cloth, works best. But there are many other stainless steel cleaners on the market. Method makes a good one, Bayes is another. People also like Lemon Pledge.

There are other colors available. White, black, that new-ish black stainless. Heck, even bisque is still available. I like white myself.

I mix 2/3 rubbing alcohol and 1/3 water in a spray bottle and use it on most surfaces that are not painted with water-based paint. It's amazing on stainless steel.
