They look a little too young to be over wintered outside just yet. I would dig them up and pot them with loose potting soil. let it dry up a bit a see if this plant recovers.

Should I cut all the leaves out and dig them up and put root balls in bags and leave them in the basement? Or should I pot them and water them once a while?
