Hoya australis questions

So those who have australis tenipes, can you share some advice on light/water requirements? my cutting seems healthy but i havent had any growth in a couple months.

it was once a much bigger mystery hoya but started dying back, took about 7 cuttings but only the water one survied

it is currently sitting in sphagnum moss with a few water storing gel pellets. it was originally water rooted in April of 2016 and repotted in jul of 2017

Just though I'd throw in some habitat photos to give people an idea of some of the range of environments it grows in.

This is over granitic rock under a high but thin canopy of tall trees so light is very bright. The sloping rock faces out to sea a short distance from the coast. The granite derived soils drain very rapidly but the climate is fairly wet. These flower quite freely.

Here it's growing amongst boulders right on the shore line with a lot of exposure to direct sun. During windy or stormy weather it would be getting salt spray. I assumed the yellowing of the leaves was caused by the combination of salt spray and strong sun. Haven't seen these flowering.

Mine at home is under tree shade but flowers well.

My 'Lisa' didn't start growing until a month or so ago, and I've had it for a little over a year! Can someone else chime in? Are they generally slow growers?

Mine grow rather quickly. They love the heat! No full sun, unless you gradually (veeeerrrry slowly) harden them off, but bright, indirect light is preferred.

Go easy with the watering. Even though they seem thin-leafed, they are not a thirsty species. They are susceptible to root rot, if over-watered (I cannot tell you how many times I've had to re-start my australis and it's many sub-species, due to over-waretering).

I let most of my australis species completely dry between waterings. With ssp. tenuipes and it's variegated form ('Lisa'), I wait until they are almost completely dry, and then water.

I received my Australis tenuipes this summer as a cutting. It is growing like crazy. I have it in an indoor greenhouse under a plant light. I mist the plants in the greenhouse so it stays pretty warm and humid in there even though it is in a basement. I also water it only when dry. The leaves closest to the light have a pretty red tint to them.

given plenty of indirect light mine has grown like a weed. took off from the day I got it even when it seemed to get over watered from rain and more rain. I had to bring it into the shade house at times but no problems...and no blooms either! grr.

My austrailis grows like crazy in a very bright east facing corner... but it only pushes out flowers once or twice a season on only two peduncles. Mine likes to be totally dry before watering again... and if I water too often while it is budding up it seems to drop them immediately. I just bought it as australis so I'm not sure... but I THINK it's tenuipes. I've started lots of cuttings from her new vines and she doesn't seem to mind. They usually start growing pretty quick for me.

My australis is in filtered light from an east facing window with fans blowing on them 24/7. It seems to be a slow grower and definitely prefersbto dry out in between watering.it's only producer four new leaves so far and I've had it for about 6 months.
