On my monitor, the colours appear to go well together. I would purchase a larger rug. Right now, the space seems to be a bunch of scattered pieces. A larger rug, with the feet of the chairs sitting upon it, would pull the room together, making it more of a unit.

The fireplace looks good with the chairs. The issue is twofold:

1) There are too many small pieces on the wall that are non-functional. I like the hydrangea, but I'd choose a color that is more of the earthy green in the chairs. Choose a large piece of simple art for over the fireplace. Remove the side mirrors.

2) The furniture is not placed well. In back of the chairs, place 2 large lamps or 2 large bookcases or both. You'll need a larger rug. The room is small, but the coffee table and wing chairs don't come together as a group.

Could we see more photos of the room to show you what a better grouping would be? Is this your only living/family room or is this just the more formal living room and there is another family room?
