My fiance and I just bought our first home and we are struggling trying to decide what kind of furniture to get. Here are some photos of the previous owners pictures. There are 3 openings into the space, the kitchen, foyer, and back hallway. We have put the TV above the fireplace so it's the focal point now. I am thinking that a sectional with it floating and centered with the fireplace is the way to go but he really thinks it restricts the space and he would like sofas against the wall. Does anyone have this type of living space that's semi opened but smaller in sqft and what furniture placement do you all recommend? If sectional, what kind if pieces do you recommend?
