Why is it inside already? Are your temps too cold?

If there is a good reason to keep in inside, then we can go from there and the quicker the better. From the sounds of it it seems like you have not left it outside at all?

how much light do you give your lemon? What fertilizer? And finally, is the pot elevated so the pot is not standing in the drip water? with citrus consistency is key.

I tried bringing the plant outside a few times but it seemed to suffer a little since temperatures go from 47-90 within the same day, and so I brought it in, but I could put it back out if that would be better for it.

The plant gets about 5-7 hours of direct sunlight (its by a southwest facing window) and I haven't fertilized it since I've had it such a short amount of time and the nursery put slow release fertilizer in it. I keep the pot elevated and empty the drip tray if there's any water in it to make sure it doesn't rot from sitting in water.

I have read from other sources that varigated citrus are harder to grow which is why I avoid them.

I would contact the seller anyway. It could not hurt, and if it's a reputable nursery, they may be of some help. I have had warranties expire in the past and the company still warranted the item.

Is just the two leaves you show in the photo all the leaves that dropped? If so I don't see a problem.
