Awkard master bedroom layout

I have a master bedroom that measures 14'x27'. On one 14' side I have a wall of windows and on the other I have a fireplace. Not sure how to set the furniture so it maximizes the space. I have a calking bed, 2 end table, bench, large chest and a large tv cabinet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Pictures of the room would help Houzzers envisage the space. Where is the entrance door placed? Is there a closet? A door to an en suite bathroom or dressing room?

What Rina said. I'm really curious to see the layout of this room. Post pictures!

Without knowing where the entry door, bathroom door or closet doors might be this is a bit awkward to guess but you could try something like this: Bench on window wall. Then bed flanked by the end tables on the long wall with 3-4 feet walking space between bench and bed. TV cabinet on the other long wall across from the foot of the bed. Two chairs and an ottoman in front of Fireplace. Large chest on one of the long walls on the end of the room with the fireplace near the new chairs and ottoman.

    Bench under window

    TV at end of bed

2 chairs in front of fireplace, chest on wall nearby, or near chairs as a table as space will allow...

Are you able to relocate your tv hookups, or does the tv cabinet need to stay where it is? I think with the scale of that room that your bed is calling out for a nice big headboard, perhaps a tall upholstered one with wall sconces on either side?

This is the furniture from the current owners. I have a large calking bed with headboard, large tv cabinet, 2 side table, bench, etc. I am downsizing from my current home so I have plenty of furniture I can use.

oh btramont, I'm so glad that bed and picture aren't yours! I'm off to an appointment, but I hope FLO chimes in, she gives great advice. I'll come back later and do a mockup of whatever gets decided.

Just a brief agreement with the ideas Rawketgirl's pics expressed in piecemeal fashion -- I would put the bed closer to the window side of the room, TV stand opposite, bench at window, large chest more or less where the bed was in the previous owners' arrangement, and two armchairs at the fire for cosy winter evenings. Nobody needs a fire that close to the bed. A rug would be good to define the seating area near the fire, I think.

The room may be awkward, but it's lovely. Those three windows are just fabulous.

Okay. Do you want to watch tv in bed or in chairs/sofa or both. Do you want to read by fireplace or by windows?

    Or two chairs

    Maybe chaise by fireplace...

I am more inclined to put the chaise by the fireplace
