Any body in the Twin Cities still needing seed garlic can get local grown hard neck varieties from Mother Earth Gardens at either of their locations. These are local grown bulbs; so they have a real leg up on adaptation to local conditions. Bachman's on Lyndale also has Music bulbs right along with their tulips. If I only could have one variety it would be Music. MEG has several very nice choices and all the bulbs are very nice sized and look very clean. There may also be some left at some of the farmers' markets around the city, but most of them are done for the year.

Plant within the next couple of weeks for best performance. It is starting to get too late for many of the varieties after the middle of October. Last year I delayed until the beginning of November since it was so mild. Turbans, Asiatics, and several of my rocamboles pouted last spring and did not perform at all well. This year most of my garlics are already in the ground. Music is left and will be in by the end of the first full week of October.
