I'll let other address the quality and price, but I will say that between a lot of the women on here, and my friends, a single bowl is very popular. Think farm sink. I don't want that, but I am changing from my 50/50 bowl to something like a 70/30-60/40. Having one side able to handle bigger pans IS a plus.

or if not offset drain to the side, you can get them with a centered drain but set to the back more. that puts the garbage disposal back further, giving more useful undersink storage.

Single bowl! Unless you are hand washing your dishes, I don't see why anyone would want a double bowl. If you can't put large skillets, pans, cookie sheets, etc. in the sink, I think it's pointless. IMHO...

Your husband is wrong. I've replaced a sink every other month for the last three years and very few have been double bowls. Large singles and a low divide now and again.

If you have a dishwasher, maybe single is better because then you can just rinse the dishes and then put them in the wash. If you don't have one, I think a double would be better.

The gauge of the sink doesn't actually matter for its performance. It's just an upsell.

Unless the sink is seriously oversized, I would chop a single bowl.

As a sink company, I can tell you most consumers are buying single bowls. I agree, the offset drains are a nice feature because they allow you to have your garbage disposal/plumbing on one side making room under the cabinet for storage, or waste bins. Although a 16 gauge will be quieter, a good 18 gauge sink with sound deadening pads should be fine, 16 gauge is 20% thicker. The grade of stainless is important and should be no less than 304.
