Ferns?

Thanks, but I don't like ferns or elephant ears/caladiums.

The gardener was suggesting either gardenias or shade azalea. Do you think either of those are low maintenance?

With me it is the lighting that is tricky. Across the property, we have every type. Where to put what becomes an issue of experience unless we acquire knowledge from the more experienced gardeners.

I had to make a choice Monday so I chose Azalea. (The gardener planted it in the pot.) It might get a wee bit of morning sun filtering through lattice, but it's mostly shaded on the front porch.

How often should it be watered at first?
