Companion plants for a mature American Beech tree.

8 years ago

I have a mature American Beech tree with very dry soil and dense shade. Four years ago I planted Vinca Minor, and it is still is very thin. Does anyone have companion plant suggestions? I hate the idea of mulching the area.
