Separate, but in the same switch plate. That way you can turn them on/off simultaneously with no problem but can leave one on whenever you want.

Hmmmm. That's 4 switches at the door of the bathroom/laundry! fan, overhead lights, laundry lights, and vanity.

I have a separate switch for the lights by the mirror. I hardly use them (I don't get dressed in the bathroom). I usually just use the ceiling light with the fan, the switch is by the door. But when they are on, they look beautiful, and since I don't use them often, I do forget to turn them off.

Electrical is already ran to feed the light above the mirror off the same power from ceiling lights. If I change this switch, now is my last chance. Was sort of considering swapping to wall sconces but I don't really know if that will make a lot of difference in a room already fairly well lit.

I think I will just keep lighting on the same switch. You go in the bathroom and should end up using the sink no matter what, making it a good idea for the vanity to be on. The overhead light just adds to light the room up. If doing laundry (only once a week) then that makes sense to be on its own switch. And the shower light works well for evening time to light the room but not be over-powering I have found. I'm still open to suggestions but time is running out if I want to change. Was hoping to hear more input on real life stories.
