You barely have any roots left - what you have is a taproot - the extention of the stem, but not the thin feeder roots that do all the work absorbing the water and nutrients. No surprise that the bottom leaves are dying - the plant sacrifices them to survive, it cannot support itself without thin roots that should be filling the whole pot.

What can you do to help your baby - remove another row of leaves to ease the burden, pot the plant in a lose barely moist soil almost up to the last leaves stalks - and put it in a baggie or cover with a some kind of transparent dome. Just keep away from the midday sun so it won't cook. It should start regrowing the feeder roots in a week, in 2-3 weeks you can gradually remove the cover.

Thanks. It used to have a lot of root at the bottom but I think I'm too aggressive. I keep pulling all the root to check any root rot.

Poor little booger. It looks like it wants to survive. Some of irina's tlc should do it.

It will survive and do well - as long as the concerned grower will stop bothering it. Extra humidity will help it too.
