Yes, this mantel is an L of ½” plate steel, painted black with a clear sealer and uses a simple L-shaped attachments that gets screwed to the framing. The dimensions are approximately 66" x 8". This leaves approx. 7 1/2" overhang on each side of the firebox. This plate is welded so it is a true right angle, (not bent, resulting in a curve). Thank you so much for your interest!
