I called LL this morning to ask about their soil and they said their mix should be light enough for wicking but I'll check once they arrive. Don't know who I spoke with but he was very nice!

I purchased some LL plants earlier this year. I don't recall anything specific about the potting mix. I do remember that while the plants were viable, they weren't the picture of health either.

I do the same thing every time I get a new plant. I let the plant have a week or so, sometimes less, to recover from shipping. (Depends on who I get the plants from too.) Then I repot. Every time. I don't bother to evaluate anybody's potting mix. Since the plants are in quarantine anyway, I inspect the roots when I do the repot.

(Its amazing how many different ideas there are amongst growers and sellers of AV's with regard to the ingredients necessary for a decent AV potting mix.) I think more than a few of the bigger ones count on the buyer repotting shortly after receipt. (Thats my take on a plant that comes in pure peat.)

I want my plants in my mix.
