Several jujubes have thorns, some more vicious than the others. Keep that in mind.

I have a Lang in the middle of the yard and they suckered out everywhere to 40 ft away. Then again I don't water mine. I just mow them down. My neighbor has a Li and made the mistake of planting hers in the garden near the house. Suckers are everywhere in her rose beds. Her tree was left unpruned and is close to 30' x 12'. Tons of fruits but hard to get to because of the height.

I started with a Li. It is now very tall , lots of sweet fruits. A friend gave us a pair of cissors on top of a long pole. We cut the fruits and hold it at the cissors then bring them down to the ground. lots of suckers, I grafted on every one then dig them out to different pots.... Kquat

I made a harvester from an empty liter plastic Pepsi bottle, put it on the end of a bamboo pole and used that to pick the fruits. I can get the bottle pretty full before emptying it. If you're on soft grass, I find that just shaking the tree or branches vigorously will dislodge most of the fruits. Good idea mdnbui I am going to try grafting some of the suckers. Any special advice for doing this?

Before I made the grafts when the scion is still dormant , in March; but recently I got scions from friends and grafted in the hot summer and in Autumn, still get 90% success. Kquat
