Jujube suckers

I want to plant a tree in my front yard between my and neighbor's garage driveways. I have about 7 feet (3' to mine and 4 to their path).

I want to plant a beautiful mid-size tree with a narrow upright character. I found a Sherwood Jujube tree can be a nice choice. However, I read that many people mentioned that suckers can a problem for Jujubes.

WIll it be a problem for me taking into consideration that I have some limited space I mentioned above? Is there a better fruit tree for my situation?

I do not want to damage my or neighbor's property :)

    Jujube roots spread out to seek water. The suckers are easy to mow down or remove. I have a sprinkler system and my ten jujube trees did not suckers much. I don't mine the sucker because it is so superficial and I can dig it up and plant it in another location and cleft graft a Honey Jar scionwood onto the rootstock to get another best eating jujube tree. So far out of my ten varieties. I liked the Honey Jar the best because of early ripening, productive, sweet, crunchy, thin skin, and more juicy than any varieties of jujube.

      Several jujubes have thorns, some more vicious than the others. Keep that in mind.

      Sorry, I have too many requests for the Honey Jar scion woods already. You can order it from Cliff England at England Orchard nuttrees.net. he got about 30 plus varieties of Jujube.

      I have a Lang in the middle of the yard and they suckered out everywhere to 40 ft away. Then again I don't water mine. I just mow them down. My neighbor has a Li and made the mistake of planting hers in the garden near the house. Suckers are everywhere in her rose beds. Her tree was left unpruned and is close to 30' x 12'. Tons of fruits but hard to get to because of the height.

      I started with a Li. It is now very tall , lots of sweet fruits. A friend gave us a pair of cissors on top of a long pole. We cut the fruits and hold it at the cissors then bring them down to the ground. lots of suckers, I grafted on every one then dig them out to different pots.... Kquat

      I made a harvester from an empty liter plastic Pepsi bottle, put it on the end of a bamboo pole and used that to pick the fruits. I can get the bottle pretty full before emptying it. If you're on soft grass, I find that just shaking the tree or branches vigorously will dislodge most of the fruits. Good idea mdnbui I am going to try grafting some of the suckers. Any special advice for doing this?

      Before I made the grafts when the scion is still dormant , in March; but recently I got scions from friends and grafted in the hot summer and in Autumn, still get 90% success. Kquat
