A friendly FYI. You installed shakes, not shaker siding. There is nothing "shaker" about using shakes for siding.

thanks for the correction! any suggestions on my original question???

i am looking for design help/ideas

Help/ideas for what?

siding installed on the top of a window, and there is alot of wood trim around it. all white. i am looking for design help/ideas

Still confused about what you are looking for. Restating the same sentence, doesn't help clarify.

why don't you paint the trim around the window the same color gray as the shakes? Or paint the inner trim (muntins? on the glass) in a that gray. that would give it some contrast. can't see the rest of the house, so really can't advise on colors.

i am just looking for a way to break up all the white around the window. looking for any/all ideas

Why do the lower windows appear gray/silver, the upper windows appear white and the trim in between all of the windows is white? If att the windows and their immediate trim (including betweeen the windows) were gray/silver it would be an improvement in my opinion. Thouse appears to be all white trim except the frieze board apprears to be gray? Consistently inconsistent is not helping.

all the windows and trim are white. you are seeing dirt that still needs to be cleaned
