A few hostas that are still looking nice

Thought I'd share a few photos of some of my better looking October hostas. Most of these are one year plants, so not huge yet...

Lakeside Hazy Morn - really love this one! I wasn't sure about ordering it because I couldn't find too many reviews... it's lost a lot of its "haze" at this point in the year but is still such a gorgeous plant.

Dark Shadows -can't wait to see this one increase!

Devon Green - this was a particularly small plant when I received it. Those leaves sure are perfect, though.

Guacamole, of course. A few slug holes, but still shiny and happy.

Wow, they really look great! Another argument to buy a second one for a shadier spot next year :-) My best looking are Valley's Glacier...

Those look great! Love Satisfaction! And Goodness Gracious is on my list... my Cathedral Windows is still looking pretty nice too...

Nichols, I'm in the South Bend area, so a ways north of Indy. Such a nice city though - my sister lives there!

Karin..I did a quick count sitting here and I have at least 16 Junes..I really like them!..

sunnywood..all of your hostas look great..I especially like Goodness Gracious and Key West..

julia..South Bend gets more snow right?..Indy keeps getting bigger doesn't it?..

All beautiful! Sunnywood - I'm convinced now that I'm going to divide/move my Cathedral Windows. I love the look of yours, and mine is in full all-day sun... it has grown huge, but looks ratty and scorched most of the summer no matter how much water it gets.

I'm also definitely getting another June next year!

Key West - there's one that is still gold in October!

It is amazing how some hosta can hold up so well. June is a winner for sure! Key West is one I would like to have, but it is considered a very large hosta so I have restrained myself from purchasing it.

I still love looking at Hostas. I am not yet ready to give them up for the season. Here are a couple still looking nice in my garden.
Blue Angel has looked nice all season.

Regal Spendor with Sum and Substance in the back.

Beth..I'm with you..I leave mine standing until the end..my neighbor cut his to the ground weeks ago..what a shame..now all of us have to look at his bare yard..

The garden already looks so empty...especially in the sunny spots, where they start to grow earlier than in the shade...
But some are still holding on...

Karin, I know what you mean about the garden looking bare. The garden is shrinking before our very eyes! Beth, I really like the look of your Blue Angel.

Dark Star with Liberty at the left. Behind I have planted a few small hosta. I am going to use the space remaining behind Dark Star to bury some pots for the winter.
