Moving from outside to in, or new house?

If moving house, I'd use large boxes and lots of newspaper or styrofoam peanuts around them, both to insulate and keep them steady.

For moving indoors, well, I'd carry them!

No, moving them to a new house in the basement.I'm not sure if i can find packing materials but i can ask some stores to save boxes. Or maybe the movers might have some supplies.

If you can't find peanuts, newspaper, paper towels, or packing paper will also work. Even hand towels will suffice!

if you can find a smaller box that can fit closed (with a plant in it ) inside another box and stuff shredded paper around the perimeter to insulate the inside box - that should be ok even in winter. to prevent soil from spilling out you can put the pot inside the plastic bag and tie between stems or put shredded paper ot paper towels on top of soil and secure them with some mailing tape or even scotch tape.

as far as pots moving inside the sealed box - you can use any and all empty plastic/cardboard containers positioned around the pot (paper tissue, empty aluminum cans, water/soda bottles closed with a cap (sturdier this way) ,etc; dry and empty and lightweight - whatever you got around the house). you can even buy jumbo packs of small bath tumblers/cups and use those to fill in between small pots/sides of box.

you can use taped shut empty cereal boxes too - to fit around the empty sides of a big box.

if your pots are small, square paper tissue cardboard boxes are great for stuffing plants inside the top opening - many per cardboard box will fit nicely and they won't shift at all.

if your pothos pots are heavy you'll need smth more sturdy, so it wont collapse. small packing cardboard boxes are good for that. you can also use var sizes of plastic plant pots (am sure you have a few hanging around).
