Hope you are all doing AOK.

The fires are terrible to look at, in the news.

My best, to all of you.

Thank you Ingrida! I’ve evacuated and hoping for the best for my home and garden.

I'm so sorry your area and home are threatened but I am glad you are out of harms way. So many casualties and missing and so much damage! It's awful.

Thank you suncoastflowers! Things are looking up - there's 27% containment of the Atlas Fire which is directly affecting my neighborhood, compared to 0% a couple of days ago. Hopefully the containment percentage will increase a lot by the end of today.

The Honey Fire was just below our street down in the canyon. We were on evac warning for about 3 days, but thankfully it never got close enough for us to actually have to leave. Was kinda scary the first day (Mon). It burnt the AT&T tower so we had no internet, and cell phones were out for a few days til they got the fiber optics replaced. I'm feeling pretty lucky and very thankful. I feel so sad for all the people who have had to evacuate, and especially for those who've lost their homes. I can't even imagine the devastation.

Ann, I hope you get to go home soon, and that you have no damage to your home or your garden!! So sorry you had to evacuate.

Hopefully no more lives will be lost.

We seem to get the very worst of weather.

Beth - Glad to hear you're ok! I know there are many less reported fires that are burning everywhere in northern CA. Thank you for your good wishes, I believe we'll be fine.

We are under evacuation advisory so we have been visiting our home for about an hour each day. My neighborhood is a ghost town however, with few cars and people about. One reason is that the air quality has been so bad that it's not advisable to be here even if you stay inside all the time. We have an elementary school in our neighborhood which means there are many families with small children. Schools, libraries, and other facilities are all closed due to the smoke and proximity to the fires.

The fire was 45% contained by last night so we are very optimistic. The issue now are predicated winds which could reignite the fire and blow it in our direction. This is the reason they have not lifted evacuation yet. Winds are quite good at the moment, but that's contrary to what was predicted so authorities are being cautious.

    Best wishes,

    Ann
