Now I see where you were trying to go. But your focal points are competing. I might even try this:

Paint that wall behind the sideboard to a bold deep sapphire. Go right to the kitchen cabinet edge, and to JUST where the charcoal color now ends and let that hearth go back to the "crushed ice" at the fire. Take the sideboard art and put it over the fire. Take all the stuff off the buffet, and hang a big , simple round mirror......I know it sounds crazy and I am normally against accent walls..... but big LOOOONG/ flat walls can be a challenge.

If the sideboard art is too large for over the fire, and it may be......move it to the opposite wall at the stair, and select something a bit smaller for over the fire. Nice if it could be square, but just for effect/color below, and remember you backdrop will be crushed ice

The bold colors will travel... as will your eye, without taking too much away from your logical, stronger focal point of FIRE. The deep sapphire "wall" with JUST a large mirror......will be both bold enough and calm enough to be in the "middle", even the light may reflect in the mirror.
