That is a great method for repotting in general but I must ask how big your sucker plant is? My personal rule of thumb is once grown in a 2oz cup to be 3x the size then I move it to a 4" pot. (For standards, semi mini to 3" pots)

The method you reference works great.

Try to disturb the root-ball as little as possible. Just put it, root-ball and all, into the hole.

My suckers are waaay too big for their pots. But they're just starting to bloom and I want to see them in all their glory...wasn't ready to repot if I had to take off all the flowers and debud!

I'm happy to hear that I can just drop them right down without taking the soil off. The videos I've seen always show 4" pots being repotted and taking all the soil off.
