I had two pots of generic, box store amaryllis I purchased at a yard sale about 4 years ago. There were 3 bulbs in each pot. I potted them into larger pots, 3 pulbs in each pot. This year I dumped them out and separated out about 15 bulbs in all. Some were about 1 inch across with other sizes going up to 4 or 5 inches across. I may throw out the smaller bulbs, I am just a casual hobbyist, not a serious amaryllis grower. In the summer I put them under the edge of a holly tree where they get late afternoon sun. They will usually bloom a brilliant red and are very pretty against the green holly leaves. I don't have a good place for them inside, so they only get indirect sunshine. They will usually bloom in January, a very pretty pink and cream. I do not have room for 15 pots! I have been letting them dry out on my porch rail, out of direct sun. Could I put some of the bulbs in the refrigerator and pot them up next spring when it is warm enough to put them outside? If they grew over the summer, I could give most of them away to friends who might get some winter flowers from them. What do you think? Susan
