looks like a red would be good... the base house grey is a little depressing. If you aren't going to repaint house, I think the shutters in red would be a great pick me up.

go to sherwin williams site. navigate your way to first selecting your colors then online paint one of their sample houses. When you get through that, take a picture of your own house and upload that. You can actually paint your own house with colors of your choosing. It takes a bit to figure it out but well worth it. I did this for my house as I am visually untalented and it so much solved all my problems about colors, bringing out features of house etc.

Charcoal or black & then paint the front door any color you like ... red or black ( most common), cobalt blue, teal or turquoise, whatever....

I agree black and remove the tree

painting the shutters the base color of the house will minimize them as an outstanding feature of the house. If you wish to highlight them, then choose a different color than the house. To me, if you paint them dark or black, you are still in the same groove as you are in now. Looks depressing

I went to Sherwin Williams today and choose dark blue. Yes,I choose the one with a UV protectant.

Painting starts next week.
