well, if you want double ovens, then you're going to have to lose some cabinet space. Unless you put it where the stove is now and moved the stovetop to the island. You would need to get a counter type microwave or stick it the island somehow. If you want to rearrange things, call in a kitchen designer. they will be able to make the best use of space.

flooring,, you can stain your red oak floors in a ashy walnut shade that will disguise any redness.

so you want dark cabs, darker floors? then choose a very light countertop and backsplash and look into redoing the lighting. you should have some recessed lights all around that kitchen. 8 would be sufficient. do retrofit LED can's. you can choose to do some pendants over the island if you prefer.

I love the color of your floors and cabinets. Think about going darker carefully as your current stain is enjoying an renewal in popularity. Dark floors show every speck, too.

I had a double oven range and loved it. It was just the two of us so the smaller one was used the most. It was the top, as well, and ergonomically comfortable. For large gatherings both were used. When one of the double wall ovens experiences a problem, it could mean having to replace both. I'm thinking of stacking independent ovens, one being a combi-steam. Google "gardenweb combi (or CSO)" for temptation. As for where to put them...remove the cabs by the fridge and install the oven stack? That would make me want to remove the island, though, as it would be tight with the oven doors open.

I'm a vent hood fan so I'd move the microwave to the upper by the fridge. Easy to reheat something and off the countertop.

Adding pulls/handles is a great idea.

I can't help with lighting. I find it confusing and overwhelming. Yes to adding it so, have fun going down the rabbit hole of lumens/spread/CRI/etc. I feel for you!

Look into adding crown from the cabinets to the ceiling. Finishes things off nicely.

One last thing. You are VERY tidy! Such a calm kitchen. My DH and kids work against this...and I may be a pile-er.

I think the floors will look perfect with walnut (or stained to mimic walnut) cabs, actually. Double ovens work work but then you're buying new cabs and trying to make it work with existing. What about replacing your island with a 60" range, then stalling a hood?

Hello. You have a fine kitchen. I would not begin to change or add anything here. I only would change color of cabinets for lighter, perhaps, I would choose cream color for cabinets.

I think there is nothing wrong with color of your floor. You don't have to change the cabinet. It is the color of the wall which darkens your kitchen. So maybe it is ok for you to paint the wall.
