Beth, the overhang counter is the plan if we go with 2, but I couldn't figure out how to show it in the software.

Can you go to the 2d layout and use the snipping tool or command-shift-4 on a mac to post the layout?

Alternatively (if this is indeed ikea) you can email a copy of the plan to yourself, cut and paste the link in a comment here.

I much prefer the peninsula plan, but I would forgo an overhang for seating and do shallow, 15" base cabinets for additional storage. Seems silly to have counter seating 3 feet from table seating here. Also it's recommended to have 60" between edge of counter seating edge to table seating edge.

Where do the two doorways at the top of the drawing lead to?

Wall A- small hallway to Garage and bonus room. In nook with fridge- to formal dining.

I agree about the extra seating when the eat in area is right there, but I haven't see any peninsulas without extra seating, which is why it is something we have been planning to do.

It would be helpful to see how the kitchen relates to the spaces around it. Please sketch out your home's floor plan and post if you can.
