so far, the only foolproof way of preventing squirrels from digging up my bulbs is to use chicken wire. However, chicken wire a pain to work with because they are hard to cut through without a tin snip. I was thinking about using deer fence, which consist of plastic netting instead of metal. This won't prevent squirrels from chewing through it, but would it be enough to deter them from digging?
