For the last two years I have been trying to design my town-home rental. Aside from the obvious challenges I face with it being a rental I inherited some colour choices are I really do not like. (See exhibit A). I really didnt nothing before as I was wary of spending money created a design on colours I didnt like. I am now in discussion with the owner to have this change to a shade of green after a long refusal.A.

The above also shows my entry which leads directly into the living area; once I get the wall green I was thinking of creating I could a focal area with a (console and runner maybe?).

A. General Living RoomThe only thing in the living room right now is the sofa and television. I am not sure what else to do with the space.

I have a space behind the large sofa that I wanted to make an office (apologies for the clutter; I am in the process of stripping paint from a chess for the first time).

Finally I have wanted to do something with the stair-way. I have always seen beautiful photos and thought I could do something so its not so bare but I dont know how to transition to that space.

Like. I have always like a mix of modern/contemporary and mid century designs that make a home welcoming but sophisticated. I prefer simplicity, clean lines but I am not a minimalist and think a well places splash of colour/glamour is good for a house. I prefer expresso finished on furniture pieces but am open to grays and a pop of colour. I tend to stay away from white pieces and rustic look option to have a bright open feel to a room. I am also not an expert but can handle small/moderate DIY projects.
Ohh and let me mention I am working on a tight budget. I do not live i the States so it can get very expensive to ship to Jamaica from the USA.
I would really appreciate any help that can be offered on this
