Nostalgia

It's definitely fall and we're bringing in the garden furniture. We have a lot of it and though we may not have sat down often, packing it all in makes me nostalgic for summer.

The patio

The coffee table in shade

For drinks in late evening sun

The kitchen garden

Nice to have lots of seating areas, and yours are a delight, I wouldn't know which to pick at any given time, regardless of weather...

Maybe the kitchen garden, I might be there all too often... beautiful all round..

Oh yes. I know what you mean. We took in all of the shading and parasols a few weeks ago. It feels like a big turning point in the year.

You have some lovely furniture Mariannese. It is great that you have somewhere to store it. Ours stays out all year round. It is all hardwood and in fact I use it all year round.

Your garden looks so enticing with all these beautiful places to sit and enjoy it. What I especially like about your garden are the large size of many of the roses, which give so much more of a dramatic look. I especially like the second picture; it looks both peaceful and so lush.

These are inspirational pictures. I like nothing more that sittting, and hope next year to incorporate a quiet retreat under an arbor. What a haven you've created.

I am not ready to give up nice weather. But I guess ready or not here it comes.

Mariannese, I honestly love your huge drapping roses. What fabulous backdrops for your settings areas . Just so Inviting

You experience nostalgia; I experience envy. The gnat and mosquito populations here make the notion of sitting outdoors somewhat laughable. Or perhaps masochistic? Both.

Your outdoor rooms are lovely, and I can see why you'll miss having access to them until spring arrives once again.

Your garden is summer-tea-in-the-afternoon paradise, Mariannese! Sigh. Soon it will be time to watch snow falling outside the window while you sip tea at the kitchen table and peruse a pile of garden books. I'd better push my lazy self outside this weekend. Time to drag the soggy garden benches into the garage. Carol

marianese, all your pictures are delightful, but the one taken from the kitchen garden showing the arch of greenery over the lawn, makes me long to walk underneath it.

Thank you so much for documenting and sharing this moment in your garden. I can only imagine how the glow of the late evening sun crosses that area set up for drinks. All of these areas look soothing.
