Winter rooting of Mums?

last modified: 8 years ago

Since the tops are going to cut back for the winter anyway, I am cruising the neighborhood to get cuttings. I have been very successful rooting my own mums in the summer but have never tried it at the end of the season.

The location inside has trays, lights and will be in a front hall where it can be a bit cool. I can supply heat if needed.

The medium will be Promix and mixed in with some Plant-Tone as a nutrient. I rarely use rooting hormone and wonder if I should in this case.

Anyone already doing this?
