Even if you were to adjust the bar, the center mount would still be off center. Can it be rewired for a sconce on either side of the mirror?

I don't understand how there can be four -- are they holding up the next floor? otherwise, they can be cut open enough to squeeze in one junction box!!

Thanks. We are going to get a stud finder over there and see just what’s there. We changed the bathroom around and there used to be a closet then a chimney for the furnace there beside it . It’s annoying we never noticed until they put the vanity in. I wondered about a solid bar that would cover the hole and could be centered too. The two sconce idea may work but we would have to redo drywall.

From Lowes you pick your own shades.

That's a great option. Glad you were able to find something that worked. Drywall or re-wiring certainly would have increased your costs. The openings for shades are pretty universal so you could probably shop anywhere to find what you like.

You can use a pancake box that mounts to the stud .

Glad you resolved it. I have similar problem that's bugged me since we did our major add'n in '83-'84. The master vanity is 8'W w/ full-length mirror & double sinks. My annoyance is that the light fixtures aren't centered over the sinks. That will change when we reno that bathroom next year. I could think of no way torectify w/o breaking mirror. It will go, too, in favor of center upper cab w/ garage.

I have the same issue. I can’t find a solution without doing drywall work or pinching new holes into a new fixture. I wish they made vanity lighting more adjustable. I’m going to look into what a “pancake box is” as suggested above.

i'm having the same problem but i'm in a rental house. the problem is the junction box is SO CLOSE to the wall it only allows for a small fixture, which leaves me showering in the dark due to the small bathroom layout.

is there a name for that type of fixture that can be readjusted?

look For this light: “ZZ Joakoah 3-Light Bathroom Vanity Light” on amaz on. It has a ”universal mount” that would work to slide the light to center while covering the existing box. (Within reason) obviously a large discrepancy won’t be solved here. But we had one off by 3-4” and it worked.
