Hello, In this home we did not provide thermal breaks at the steel posts. The climate in the Seattle area is mild enough that it does not cause an issue. When necessary, we have used a system that provides a thermal break at the steel columns by using two "C" channels with dimensional lumber and rigid insulation in between.
