Replacing wooden balusters

We are planning on updating the look of our staircase banisters by replacing the wooden balusters with iron. I was thinking of going the easy route and installing some adjustable iron balusters instead of going through the trouble of cutting non-adjustable ones. What are your thoughts: Should I go with adjustable or not?
