Sink cabinet will be 36" with double granite sink. What is the optimum design size above this cabinet. Ceiling is 96". New window to be cut out, so I can do what I want EXCEPT can't lose too much cabinet wall space (I am going to lose upper cabinets on passthrough wall).

Should a window be about 6" wider on each side of the sink? A 36 window over 36 sink/cabinet seems to be too small and too many vertical lines running the same from cab up to window. I suppose the window trim will make it somewhat larger....just wondered if there was a method to determining best scale between sink and window. Sorry pics not great but this is the current space. Sink wall faces east so lots of morning sunshine! Cabinets are all be replaced. Comments appreciated.
