The label is a misprint.

You'll find your plant under Azalea or Rhododendron simsii. Not hardy in our winters. Have you got a cool, light place such as a conservatory where you can keep it? It's pretty mild where I am still. My house plants are still outside for a couple more weeks at least.

Thanks Floral_UK, I thought it must have been a misprint! I don't have a conservatory, but I have a double aspect living room which is pretty light - the window is south facing so I'd probably have them on the mantlepiece and not directly in the light. We don't tend to have the house too warm so hopefully that'll be okay do you think? Alternatively the spare room downstairs is always very cool.

"Azalea simsii" would be a mistaken combining of the correct Rhododendron indicum with the now obsolete Azalea indica. This is a single-flowered wild azalea native from Upper Myanmar to Japan, which is a parent of the often greenhouse-grown, frost susceptible Indica hybrid azaleas. Of which yours is an example. It will actually have its own particular cultivar name, which the production facility apparently didn't send out with the plant. Your azalea instead being presented to the end consumer with the generic and erroneous (including mis-spelled) combination you asked about here.

For purposes of illustration it's somewhat equivalent to an apple presented by a produce department or market with a sticker on it that said "Appll" instead of something like Red Delicious.
