How do you feel about your Little Sister?

This has remained the smallest of the mini's a kindly old gent bestowed upon me There are three crowns in this picture. The diameter of the cluster is approx 2.5-2.75 inches. Don't know if I'll fight the multi-crown battle. My understanding is that most (?all?) of the real mini's such as this are actually trailers and will form multiple crowns with a vengeance.

Amount of variegation in the newer leaves is far less than what the original new ones had when I received the plant. Don't know if higher temps contributed to that.

in sunlight (under fluorescents really didnt make a difference with captured flower color surprisingly)

I bought one at the Fall Ann Arbor Violet sale. I thought she was the cutest little thing! And she was blooming. Such a pretty flower. I did think the flower was pretty large for as small as the leaves are. Guess that is really nothing to complain about!

She doesn't have one sucker on her though. After I read your post I checked thoroughly. Not that she never will. But you did bring up an interesting point about suckers.

"most (?all?) of the real mini's such as this are actually trailers and will form multiple crowns". Have you ever let one of these plants develop to actually be a trailer? If you did,,,was there any difference between it and one you really know IS a real trailer? Or did it just turn into a mess of crowns that acted more like an unkempt single crown violet?

I keep plucking suckers off if I know the plant should be a single rosette. Unless I actually want a couple more plants! lol Rosie

Very pretty flowers. The suckers on one of my minis are near impossible to remove without damaging the surrounding leaves. I can relate to the multi crown predicament it presents to a grower.
