My lights are for hydroponics and are too bright and hot for the space and plants I'm growing at the moment. I'm overwintering some coleus, growing out some coleus cuttings, seeding low-light houseplants and - eventually, closer to spring - seeding summer annuals, ornamental and veg. I need something for the seeds that I can keep close to them, but I also need something to keep the larger plants happy. Most my houseplants are ok in the regular house light, but for plants that will go outside, I want to ensure enough light. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it's low light most of the winter. I want to do LEDs, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it - I've already done that with metal halide and the HID. I've been looking at lights $30 and under on Amazon - round, full spectrum bulbs and strips of smaller lights. I looked at one gooseneck fixture that has two heads with strips that looked pretty good "Lovebay Timing Function Dual head Grow light 36LED 4 Dimmable Levels..." and it gets great reviews, but the lights are just red and blue - no UV and IR and white (I can make up for the white) - and the strips aren't replaceable, so you just throw out the whole fixture. Kinda sucky. Then there are full spectrum 12, 24, 50 watt equivalents...but how far will they spread?

I'm pretty lost about what to do. Any suggestions?
