I am drafting up our remodel and update list for our newly purchased home. Paint is #1 on the list and after that I want to start updating lighting. Currently there are ceiling fans in both the living room and kitchen that I do want to replace. We do have a few canned lights in the kitchen, but I am looking for a fun light fixture for each room. What might you suggest? We are going for a bit of modern farmhouse feel. I thought about placing some fun pendant lights above the breakfast bar, but that might conflict with how some of our cabinets in that area open up so a central fixture where the ceiling fan is located might be

best. I'm excited to see pictures of what others have done in similar spaces!
