Pond water muddy and brown

Hi,

So my pond is muddy and brown, maybe a little greenish. I know this is always a hard topic to solve. But just like to throw some pictures here and hopefully get some recommendations or pointers.

Please see pictures. My pond is small.

I put active carbon in the pond. No change at all.

Take a bottle of water and sit for several hours. There is no sediment--not settling down the bottom.

Put epsom salt in it and sit overnight, no change,

Have quilt batting (new) around pump but water from pump same color.

My current thinking is clay. What do you think?
