could you please post more about the mechanism? i cant figure how it works for slide it....will be ideal for my coming small kitchen remodel..thanks!

    My guess is that the island has some sort of L shaped metal piece on its side. The table hooks with a another, reverse L shaped piece into the fixed piece on the island.

    The table also probably has a groove on its leg which hides the island piece when the table is stored on the island.

    An illustration might explain it a bit better.
