Hi, Can you tell me what is the siding made of, how is it finished and maintained?

It is cedar siding, stained with 2 coats semi-transparent stain. Depending on the level of sun and weather exposure, and the quality of the stain, it should be re-stained every 3-5 years. You may end up having to only stain the north side (or sides with heavy shade) every other stain period.

I believe it ended up being Elk Roofing, Timberline, color slate.
