It looks like you have mini blinds, or blinds of some sort already on the windows. The blinds seem like the perfect solution, they control light, provide privacy when needed and open all the way for light and airy. Not sure you need to do anything to the beautiful room. I think curtain rods here would look like clutter. I might consider painting the ceiling the same color as the creamy trim but it might just be my monitor.

I need something to soften the room and hide the poorly designed angles of the "bay window" and take attention from the ceiling fan. I don't see mini blinds as an aesthetic... worth noting as well, this is not the furniture to be placed in the room and the paint color will be changed to a neutral pale pink (BM "Lov & Happiness")

Sounds like you need custom curtain rods for some pretty sheers. You can keep the blinds for light control, or do double rods for curtains with sheers under for light control and do away with the blinds.
