Building a Home Cleaning Tips Flooring

We're building a new home and I'm not sure what flooring to go with. I like ceramic tile but am concerned about the up keep. my Mom has trouble with a film that appears on hers after mopping. Also, does darker grout show less stains? I've also read tile with a glaze is less likely to stain. Any advice is appreciated.

Your mom's cleaner is causing the film, not the tile.
