You need storage big time maybe a pantry cupboard where the garbage can is, a counter depth fridge would be my first item and then IMO paint the same as therest of the house and get some good lighting please.

What is the gray color in the hallway? Maybe you can just extent it into the kitchen.

I think a lighter color would brighten up the room and make it even appear to be larger. Possibly a lighter gray or the same gray from the hallway.
